It's a TV broadcast, so no 1080p. I assume those will be available whenever it gets released on BD.

Why do you hate TL notes, Vivid? Why would you rather rewrite a line of dialogue to give us the meaning of the mushi's name than use a TL note?

I understand where you're coming from, but the staff all feel that using a TL note is the more obtrusive and distracting of the two options.

The alternative would be to simply use the translated name in all cases, but we decided on this approach back during Hihamukage and have consistently applied it for all of the named mushi throughout the show.

It's certainly rather late to complain about it now, but I was watching HS' releases up until this point, and CR used TL notes instead.
I can definitely agree that this is a better option than localising the name entirely, and to a point, that the method is less intrusive than TL notes, as I imagine only people like myself, who know enough Japanese to spot this change, but not enough to watch without the subs, would be particularly bothered by it.
In a sense, it's the most mass-friendly way to translate it.
